GlowRoll Privacy Policy

GlowRoll is a shared event camera: a host creates a film roll, guests join it and take photos, and everyone sees them when the roll is revealed. To do that we store your account, the events you join and the photos you take. We have no ads, we do not sell your information, and we never see your card or bank details.

When you sign up we keep your email address, the username and display name you choose, and your password (stored only in hashed form by our sign-in provider). If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address and basic profile with us; we do not get your Google password.

If you join an event as a guest, you don't give us an email or password: we keep only the nickname you enter and a guest account tied to the app on that phone. If you sign out or remove the app, you lose access to that guest account, but the photos you took stay in their events. You can delete a guest account the same way as any other account.

When you host an event we store what you enter for it: its title, description, cover image, reveal time and, if you add one, a place name or city. When you join an event we record that you are a member of it.

Photos you take or pick in GlowRoll are uploaded to our storage so the other members of that event can see them after the reveal. Anyone you share an event's invite link or QR code with can join that event and see its photos, so share invites only with people you want in the roll.

Each package keeps photos for a set storage period counted from the reveal: Free 7 days, Casual 30 days, Party 60 days, Wedding 90 days. When it ends, the event's photos are deleted, so download anything you want to keep before then. Except on the Wedding package, we store photos as very high-quality copies (up to 2560 pixels) rather than the untouched originals.

GlowRoll uses your camera only while you are taking a photo, and your photo library only when you choose a picture or save one to your phone.

Paid packages bought in the app are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store; on the web they are handled by our payment provider. They take care of the payment, and we never receive your card or bank details. We keep a record of each purchase (the package, amount, status and the store's purchase reference) so it is credited to the right event exactly once.

If you allow notifications, we store a push token for your device so we can tell you about your events, for example when a roll is revealed. Notifications are delivered through Expo's push service and Google's or Apple's notification services. You can turn them off at any time in your phone's settings.

We use a small number of service providers to run GlowRoll: Supabase (accounts, database and photo storage), Expo (push notifications), Google and Apple (sign-in, app stores, purchases and notifications), and our web payment provider. They process your information only to provide their service to us. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising, and GlowRoll contains no third-party ads or analytics.

You can delete a photo you took without deleting your account, until the roll is revealed: tap Check your shots on the event screen, open the photo and tap Delete. The photo and all its stored copies are deleted immediately and permanently. After the reveal, ask the event's host, who can delete any photo in that event.

You can delete your account in the app: Profile, then Delete Account. This immediately and permanently deletes every photo you took, every event you host together with all of its photos, your event memberships and your notification tokens, and you can no longer sign in to that account.

We keep a closed record of the account (your email address, username, display name and the date you deleted it) and your purchase records, so we can handle refunds, disputes, fraud and our legal and tax obligations. These are not shown to anyone else. Your email address is released from the deleted account, so you can sign up again later with the same email or Google account; that creates a new, empty account.

If you can no longer open the app, email support@cmenglabs.com from the address you signed up with and write "Delete my GlowRoll account", and we will do the same within 30 days.

You can also ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct it, at the same address.

GlowRoll is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
